I wanted to write something that felt empowering.

It was based in my own gendered experience as a woman and the challenges I've had hearing so many outside opinions of who and how I should be. In recent years, when someone has asked me if I was open to their feedback, I’ve honestly replied politely, “No thank you because I’m fairly certain I’ve heard it and I’ve also heard the complete opposite.”

We all can feel misunderstood and all desire to be who we are, away from judgement. After all, I do believe, one of our core desires as humans is to be seen for who we are.
